The 9th edition of G.S.B. Sabha Mumbai’s Bhakti Natya Tarang was held on 18th July 2026 at Wadala, Mumbai. The vocals by Smt. Basti Kavitha Shenoy were suitably accompanied by Shri. Rishith Honavarker on the Harmonium, Shri Manoj Acharya on the Tabla, Shri Rajesh Salvi on the Pakhawaj and young 10-year-old, Kumar Chiranth Acharya on the Manjira. The audience were regaled with Konkani and Kannada bhajans as well as famous Marathi Natyasangeet. Smt. Kavitha took bhajan requests from the audience, much to their delight.
Bhakti Natya Tarang has been receiving consistent support from our generous sponsors. This year Shri. M. Prakash Hegde was the main sponsor while the co-sponsors were SMS Financials, Shri Anil Kamat (in memory of this father, Late Shri. R.L. Kamat) and Bhandarkar Publications. Sabha President thanked all sponsors by presenting a memento as a token of gratitude. The President then requested Smt. Bharati Bhandarkar of Bhandarkar Publications to felicitate the artistes with a token of appreciation.
This year also marked the initiation of the Shri N. Trivikram Prabhu Smaranartha G.S.B. Hari Bhakta Bhajana Mandalam Sammanam. Instituted by Shri Laxmikant Prabhu and Smt. Bina Shenoy in memory of their father, an ardent lover of Bhajans, to encourage and honour bhajana mandalis who continue to carry on the tradition of bhajan and kirtans with dedication and devotion. The first and deserving recipient of this award was the Gurukrupa Bhajana Mandali, GSB Sabha KCG (Kurla Chembur Ghatkopar). Prominent senior members of the Bhajana Mandali accepted the beautiful and aptly designed trophy from Shri Govind Acharya, Purohit of Wadala Ram Mandir. Shri Acharya also honoured the sponsors of the newly instituted award with divine tulsi saplings.
The sur continued to flow after the refreshment break of snacks and coffee. A melodious voice singing with devotion, accompanied by rhythmic percussion instruments and of course, the sur of the samavadini! The applause of the 200+ audience was as thunderous as was the rain outside.
